On last sunday, the 25th of june, the Red Sappers travelled to Trier, facing the Cardinals on their Römerfield. Trier quickliy scored in the 1st Inning, but helped the Sappers with 2 Errors in the top of the 2nd Inning to get on track with the egalizing run. 1-1 was the score at the end of the 2nd Inning.

Dudelange took the lead in the top of the 3rd Inning, 2-1, but Trier loaded the bases in their half-inning with 2 hits and a walk, nobody out. Another walk let them score the 2-2. Sappers Pitcher Juan Godoy kept them away from doing real damage to the Sappers by striking the rest of the Trier Batters out.

In the top half of the 4th Inning, the Starting Pitcher of Trier was getting tired and had to be changed. But even the fresh Cardinals Pitcher could not prevent Dudelange from scoring 6 runs in the 4th.

The new Cardinals Pitcher did not last long on the Mound, getting quickly tired as well after a hard 4th Inning. But even the 3rd Pitcher could not stop the Sappers from scoring and the completely Sappers Lineup had more than 2 At Bats each in the next Inning.

After 15 runs for Dudelange in the top half of the 5 th Inning, Trier was completely down. The Mercy rule endet the Game after 5 Innings with a score of 23-2 (15-6 Hits) for the Red Sappers.

The next Game of the german Verbandsliga Südwest will take place the 8th of july at 1 p.m. on the Baseballfield of Worms against the hosting Worms Cannibals.
